Mr. Brown Cocktail Napkin no.63

$95.00

Handmade cocktail napkins using designer fabric samples from the 1960’s - today.

Set of 4 - Each set is just under 5”

Each set is make handmade using the samples on the front and a contrast coordinating fabric on the back. The backing fabric was also sourced from the upholstery shop.

The story: My friend called and told me that this amazing upholstery shop was closing and that I had to meet her there. The shop is a mile down the road from where I live and I had never been. I ran over and quickly fell in love with the owners. Mr. Brown is 89 years old and still recovering giant sofa’s on his own & Mrs. Brown is a super talented interior designer. They graciously let me dig thru 60 years of accumulated fabric and under it, I found a box. In the box was years of fabric samples, folded up neatly and protected from the sun under all the other fabric. It was in perfect condition. It took a handful of trips but I eventually got it all home and realized just how good the fabric was. It was mostly designer Schumacher from the 70’s. Some was older, some was newer but it was all magic.

I didn’t know what I would do with it all but I knew I had to make something with it. Thankfully this same friend had the amazing idea of using it for cocktail napkins. I got to work and here we are! I am so happy to breath a new life into this fabric and forever thankful for my friend & The Browns.
