THE MOVIE CLUB: NO. 13
Happy Fall Y’all!
The only time I ever say y’all is via text. I’m not positive but I have a feeling if I were to speak that word (is it words?) aloud, I would spontaneously combust. Speaking of spontaneously combusting, I have a bad habit of taking my pants off and stepping out of them and just leaving them on the floor. Ya, I know. I am a pig, oink oink. Moving on… when I push them down and step out, they stay exactly like that. It’s like two little open feet holes in a perfectly bunched up pile and I always think it looks like I have spontaneously combusted. If I ever go missing and all that is left is my bunched up pants, know that it was nothing ominous. I simply just spoke the words “Y’all” and poof. She gone.
What does that have to do with the movie club? NOTHIN. I just got off track.
So, thoughts on Overboard? It was delish. I was very weary after the whole man overboard thing because the glamour was over. I wanted more outfits, more lewks, more sassy one liners… I didn’t want mom of 4 in a mumu but, to my surprise, I came around on it and loved it. Goldie is perfection. She is definitely one of my all time faves. She is candy on the screen. It was a fun watch.
So, what should we do for October’s movie of the month? I mean there are literally so many good spookie flix that would fit the bill to be a Willa Heart Movie Club feature.
Should we go over the movie club requirements? Sure. why not? I am currently avoiding packing up a big wholesale order so its the perfect procrastination activity!
Willa Heart Movie Club Requirements: female fronted and visually stunning. I want to sit there with wide eyes. I want outfit inspo, I want home inspo, I want a girl crush, I want music that makes me want to download the soundtrack on limewire, I want to feel invigorated, I want glitz & glam, I want Hollywood. Pretty movies with pretty people and sets. The more superficial the better y’all.
So what is it going to be? As said, there are so many good movies to pick from for October but I went with something I have been wanting to watch forever.
We are members of this amazing arthouse movie theater called The Nickelodeon here in Columbia, SC. I feel very lucky to have it close by. Going to the movies is one of my favorite things to do and when we moved from Boston, where there are so many fabulous independent movie theaters, I was worried I would have to wait months and months for all the good movies to stream online. Well, I don’t. There is the Nick but also the pandemic fixed that and now I can watch almost everything from home.
I am getting way off track here.
Back to The Nick! It does a really great job of curating special features and sends out this little magazine with all the events they have going on. The team over there know what they are doing. It’s the only art house cinema in the state! Charleston might have the looks and the food, but no movies.
So, years ago, I got the little magazine and opened it up and saw the prettiest face maybe ever looking back at me. I cut out the picture and put it on my desk to remind me to go and see the movie. Well, as discussed, I can be a slob. I forgot about the screening but the picture floated around my desk for like a year or two and every time I saw it, I would think about how I need to get my shit together and put fun events on my calendar so I don’t miss them and also that I need to watch the movie.
What’s the movie? The Love Witch. Duh.

MOVIE: The Love Witch (2016)
STREAMING ON: I think it’s on prime but half the time google fails me. I will go to watch something and then prime or hulu will be like that’s not included in your membership which is bogus cause I pay for the no commercials package. Ive got that deluxe shit my babies. I don’t get it. I always just end up charging them to Tim on itunes.
I mean how is it even possible to be this pretty? I cant wait to watch.
