Are the silhouettes custom? 

Yes! Each silhouette is made to order of your loved one. 

Once you have selected your papers & submitted your photos, we will cut your silhouettes and make you an original piece of art. 

The silhouettes in the listings are examples. Your silhouette will be fully personalized. 

Where are the patterns from?

All of the patterned papers are original designs painted by Willa Heart for the silhouettes.

Can I add personalized details (like hats, bows, or pet accessories) to a silhouette?

Yes! Anything you can dream up, we can make!

Will I get a proof of the silhouette? 

We do not offer proofs because of the handmade nature of the silhouettes. All details will be discussed and approved before cutting has begun preventing the need for proofs. Photos of any Detail Add On will be sent for approval before being glued. Final photos of the silhouette will be sent for approval before shipping. 

What age is good for a silhouette?

We make loads of newborns, teenagers and have even done a handful of adults. You are never too old or too young for a silhouette. 

How do the photos work?

A photo guide will be provided after your order is placed via email. Please keep an eye on your inbox. You will submit your photos via email. 

Can you do dogs? 

Of course! We have made silhouettes of dogs, birds, horses, and even chickens! We can do anything you can imagine. 

How long does it take? 

Silhouettes take2-3 weeks once photos have been sent & details have been confirmed. 

Do you offer any other silhouette products?

Thank you so much for asking. We have custom notecards and gift tags that can be purchased after your original order. 

Do you offer discounts on the silhouettes?

Since they are custom ordered, the silhouettes never go on sale. We do offer a 20% discount for additional cuts. 

What is an additional cut?

An additional cut is when we cut multiple of the same silhouette. They make fabulous gifts and are available at the time of purchase or later down the line. We will save all your information and the additional cut will be ready for purchase whenever you are.

What size silhouette should I get? 

That depends on where you want to display. If you plan on hanging your silhouette on the wall an 8 x 10 or 11 x 14 is great! If you want to display your silhouette on a bookshelf, the 5 x 7 is the perfect size.

Can I order a custom silhouette as a gift if I don’t have the person’s photo yet?

Yes! We have a wonderful option for a silhouette gift card. The gift cards can be shipped directly to the giftee or we can send to the purchaser. 

The gift cards come with a handwritten message, a printed photoguide & post card. We wrap up the gift cards beautifully so that the giftee will have something special to open.

Can you provide your own paper?

Yes! We call this the wallpaper.

What is the finished size of the silhouette?

The dimensions of the silhouettes refer to the background paper. The 5 x 7 is actually 5” x 7” and will fit into a standard 5 x 7 frame.

How does the wallpaper work? 

First you pick your style & size and then order the silhouette. 

After you place your order, you will receive an email (keep a close eye on your inbox) and you will be contacted with a photoguide and an address to ship your wallpaper. 

You will provide your own wallpaper. 

The amount of wallpaper needed will depend on the wallpaper design and the size of your silhouette. Any extra wallpaper will be returned. 

Once the wallpaper arrives in the studio, we will put together a selection of mock-ups and begin the designing process together. 

Where do you ship the wallpaper? 

To the Willa Heart Studio. After your order has been placed, an address will be provided via email.

We do not offer framing at this time

What size frame should I order for my Silhouette?

5 x 7 - You can purchase a 5 x 7 frame or an 8 x 10 if you want a mat. Most 8 x 10 frames will come with a cut-out that fits a 5 x 7 piece of art. 

8 x 10 - You can purchase an 8 x 10 frame or an 11 x 14 if you want a mat. Most 11 x 14 frames will come with a cut-out that fits an 8 x 10 piece of art. 

11 x 14 - You can purchase an 11 x 14 frame or something larger if you want a mat. A 16 x 20 frame would look gorgeous with your 11 x 14 silhouette and give it a beautiful gallery style look. It will also take up a nice chunk of wall space if you need to fill a room.

Can you recommend frames?

I recommend bringing your art to a local frame shop and letting the professionals handle it. 

If you are looking for a more budget friendly option, using a mat will give your art a custom look. You can shop off the rack & most frames come with a mat or you can have a mat cut at any local frame shop. 

How long does shipping take 

Prints: Our prints are made to order and have a lead time of 2 - 3 weeks from the date your order is placed. 

Silhouettes: Silhouettes will be completed within 2 - 3 weeks of photos & details being confirmed. Once the silhouette is approved, it will ship within a few days. 

Original Art: Please allow 1- 2 weeks for original artwork to be shipped
